Video/TV Production for almost 30 years!

About

Paul Frederick has been involved in television production for over 25 years.  As an employee of Mountain Lake PBS, in the 90’s, Paul learned all aspects of production, from studio lighting, audio, and live directing, to producing live events and documentaries. While at the station he was videographer and editor on several national public television programs such as VOICES OF SCOTLAND and REACH FOR THE SKY, and as Producer/Videographer/Editor on A SONG FOR SISTERS.

Videography and editing became a passion in those early years, garnering numerous awards, including a regional Emmy Nomination for outstanding camera in a documentary for MOUNTAIN LAKE SERENADE.

In 2001, Paul struck out on his own and established Paul Frederick Productions.  A small independent company that still specializes in all areas of production, from program creation to corporate and commercial work as well as camera operator for live sporting events.  With a strong belief in the ideology of public television, Paul has continued his work in documentaries through WMHT, the PBS affiliate in Troy, NY.  His credits for the station include serving as Producer/Videographer/Editor on several national programs such as HUDSON RIVER JOURNEYS, SENECA RAY STODDARD: AN AMERICAN ORIGINAL, and DIVINE DISCONTENT: CHARLES PROTEUS STEINMETZ.  Other public television programs include ENTER THE HAGGIS: LIVE AT LANNIGAN’S BALL (A celtic rock concert program for broadcast and DVD), AGE WISE a 5 episode series on aging in New York and AMERICA’S TEAM: BEING A US AIR FORCE THUNDERBIRD.

we always used your wide pf on our c100 and liked it a lot. now we own a sony a7r2 as b camera and wonder, if you heard that somebody works on a picture profile for the a7 line that is comparable to wide dr or better wide pf.
thanks for any support and greetings from sunny switzerland

    • Thanks for the kind words, glad that picture profile worked well for your C100. I have not heard of anyone tweaking a SONY A7R to match the WIDEPF profile. I don’t have that camera so I can’t say either. I always find SONY cams to be on the blue side, so maybe start there by increasing the reds some? Tough to do without some kind of side by side comparisons and scopes/charts. Good luck!

  2. I just watched you short video “Adirondack Autumn” for the second time. I am an Adirondack photographer myself (part time but serious. I am affiliated with Northwind Gallery in Saranac Lake off and on and the Cornerstone Gallery in Lake Placid). I have seen a lot of video , especially now that everybody with a drone thinks their video is worth posting. But yours video is better than any of the others I’ve seen. Good job. You really captured the landscape well

    • Thanks so much Russ! I’ll be sure to stop by the galleries next time in SL or LP and check out your work. I appreciate the nice comments about my video “Adirondack Autumn”. Please check out some of the other scenic videos on this site and I hope to release some more soon.

Hello Paul, greetings from Ireland – love your work!
I too used your Wide PF profile on my C100 and absolutely loved it. I now have the C100 mark 2 and your profile doesn’t work with it. I can’t seem to tweak the Wide DR profile on the C100 ii to get it to match your profile on the C100. Any chance you have a similar profile to match the c100 mark 2.

    Any advise appreciated 🙂

    • Thank you Emma for the kind words. Glad you found my C100 profile helpful. I do not have the C100II so I have not created a profile for it. I didn’t think there was a big difference in the color science between the two models? Sounds like there is. I’m afraid I can’t help you though without getting my hands on one. I’ve mostly now switched to SONY Mirrorless cameras. The color science isn’t as good as Canon but I’ve found some tweaks for it to come close. Best of luck
